The glamour of a flight stewardess's job.

Frankly,it is a glamouros job....I mean the stewardess position. It also depends on which airline you work for. If it is Singapore Airlines,it is a good bet. Salary-wised it is good compared to others. Roster-wised,it is still the best in that the cabin crew has longer stops at outstations eg. SQ 11 on the journey back from LA,the cabin crew stays 2 days in Tokyo.
Hello mind you,the cockpit crew are only allowed 1 day stay in this case. Best of all the cabin crew stays in downtown Tokyo,an area calls Shinjuku. They are put in a 5 star hotel.
Tell me which airlines allow its cabin crew to stay in an expensive place like Tokyo for 2 days (unless the airline flight frequency is 3 times a week to TYO)?
Emirates,Cathay,BA.........none of these airlines let their CC stay 2 days in Japan,at most it will be 24 hrs.
I also understand CC in SIA nowadays score as much as S$5,000 a month in take home pay because of the shortage of crew. They perhaps got to put in about 80 hrs duty time a month to get that 5k ( not too sure about the duty time)
My niece want to get into SIA as a stewardess partly because of the attractive salary and partly because of the travel.SIA has an extremely good network of stations to nightstop.
So I've to "gambaro"(try my best in Japanese)to get her into SIA!

Not true, look at the flying pattern before you condemn other airlines,eg.Cathay Pacific do not require that kind of pattern due to geographical postion,I understand they have one or two full day in some asia region and some longer stay than SQ in longer flt patterns, check facts correctly before jumping in on the wagon.

I'd disagree that CC is a glamorous job. I fly regularly for work and know how unglamourized the CC job is. They have to serve food/drinks, fetch newspapers & magazines, and clean toilets -- except for nicer uniforms and maybe more money -- it's pretty much what a MacDonalds staff would do.

Blowfish u may disagree for all u want but look at the sia walkin interview on 17 jan 2009 and u will know that crew job is always in demand. So isn't it a glamourous job?
